With no announcement from LEGO, it seems we are getting a new LEGO Architecture set this year afterall. The Architecture line was missing from the First 1/2 Year Catalog we saw previously so it wasn’t clear what LEGO Group would do with the series this year. No new Skyline series has been announced, but now we have word that a brand new Taj Mahal will be released in June for most of the world but held until August for North America.

The Taj Mahal is one of the most famous landmarks in India, located in the city of Agra. It was primarily completed in 1643 as a mausoleum to house the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal favorite wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. The entire site is 42-acres including elaborate gardens.

Pricing for the set is US $129.99, CAD $169.99, and probably UK £129.99 which clocks in 2022 pieces. It’s smaller than the previous one, which was 5,922 pieces in the 2008 version and 5923 in the 2017 reissue. Coincidentally, the new set is numbered 21056 and the 2017 version was number 10256. Sure, semi-random, but interesting.

The Brother Brick blog broke the news first with Hoth Bricks following the story shortly after.
