Downtown Diner Designer Video Provides Insight to Design

Continuing with the new “interview” style of video where the story is as much about the designer as about the set. In this video, we learn about the senior designer, Mike Psiaki, and his design partner on this project, Carl Merriam.

One of the more fascinating things we learn is that this project didn’t start as a Diner, but rather a car dealership in the same style. Not that 50s retro car dealership wouldn’t be awesome, but definitely wouldn’t fit into a city block.

I’m not sure how I feel about this new video style. I kind of liked the walkthrough of new parts and colors that we had in the older style, but the new one is more people-centric, which is nice too.
