Life-Size LEGO Formula 1 Cars Stun at the Miami Grand Prix!

What do you get when LEGO and Formula 1 team up? Some seriously awesome life-size LEGO Formula 1 cars, that’s what! At the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, fans were treated to a wild sight—real F1 drivers cruising down the track in brick-built versions of their race cars. Yep, Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc actually rode in full-scale LEGO McLaren and Ferrari SF-24 cars during the drivers parade, and they looked absolutely incredible.

These life-size LEGO Formula 1 cars were packed with detail, built entirely from LEGO bricks but styled just like the real deal—from the curves to the sponsor logos. Racing History! The LEGO Group and Formula 1® take over the Miami Grand Prix with 10 fully drivable LEGO® cars with F1 race drivers at the wheel

  • In partnership with Formula 1®and all 10 teams on the grid, the LEGO Group has created fully drivable big build LEGO® cars and put them to the test at the Miami Grand Prix Driver’s Parade.
  • Inspired by the LEGO® F1 Speed Champions range, each of these LEGO big builds comprises of nearly 400,000 bricks, weighing 1500kg and capable of reaching speeds of 20km/h.

Miami, USA, Sunday 4th May 2025: Today, the LEGO Group and Formula 1 took over the Miami Grand Prix Driver’s Parade unveiling 10, fully drivable, LEGO big build F1 cars, representing every team on the grid.

And if that wasn’t enough, all 20 F1 drivers completed a lap in their respective teams’ big builds as part of the event’s Drivers’ Parade. The builds were created to celebrate the two brands’ ongoing, multi-year partnership to create even more memorable moments for families at races in 2025 and beyond.

The unveiling marks a number of firsts for the LEGO Group, including the first time the company has produced multiple drivable big builds at the same time, as well as the first-time multiple Formula 1 drivers have got behind the wheel of LEGO cars at the same time.

These breathtaking feats of design and engineering were created by a skilled team of 26 designers, engineers and LEGO builders, over 22,000 hours, in the LEGO Group’s Kladno factory, located in the Czech Republic. At a near 1:1 in scale with Formula 1 cars, each big build comprises of nearly 400,000 LEGO bricks, weighing 1500kg and capable of reaching speeds of 20 km/h, all while capturing the intricate and unique details of a Formula 1 car, including everything from sponsor logos to authentic Pirelli Tyres.

Each of the LEGO big build designs were based on the LEGO F1 Speed Champions range unveiled late last year, with this unveiling at the Miami Grand Prix marking the latest in a year of activations between the LEGO Group and Formula 1, aiming to bring families closer to the sport than ever before.
