Wow – San Diego Comic Con is the usual treasure trove of LEGO announcements. Just before it started, we were introduced to the long-rumored Dungeons & Dragons Minifigure Series (71047) featuring 12 brand new minifigures. Just like the previous CMF series, each of these figures is a blind pick, now using the cardboard boxes introduced last year. This makes it more difficult to predict which of the 12 you’ll get with each choice.
There are now apps and methods to weigh the boxes and also scan a code on them to help determine what’s inside the mystery box so with those tools, it’s hopefully not to hard to get the whole series – or build an army of Mind Flayers if that’s what you’re into.
The series is available to pre-order on LEGO.com today and will be shipping and available in store starting from September 1.
These figures pair nicely with the Dungeon & Dragons Red Dragons Tale set that was released last month.
There is 1 surprise LEGO Dungeons & Dragons minifigure in each box and a total of 12 characters to collect: Tiefling Sorcerer, Elf Bard, Halfling Druid, Dwarf Barbarian, Dragonborn Paladin, Aarakocra Ranger, Gith Warlock, Mind Flayer, The Lady of Pain, Strahd von Zarovich, Tasha the Witch Queen and Szass Tam.
All 12 LEGO fantasy minifigures are ready for kids to use in their fun-filled stories and come in a sealed mystery box accompanied by at least 1 authentic accessory and a collector’s information leaflet. This unique Dungeons & Dragons gift inspires great storytelling and provides kids with countless hours of playtime on their own or with friends.
