The LEGO® Star Wars™ 25-Second Film Festival Announced by the LEGO Group as part of a whole year of planned anniversary celebrations

Hey LEGO Star Wars fans! Get ready to blast off into an epic year because 2024 is not just any year – it’s the 25th anniversary of the LEGO Star Wars universe! That’s right, we’ve been enjoying this intergalactic partnership for a quarter of a century, and LEGO is throwing a year-long party that’s sure to be out of this world.

The celebrations kicked off in style at the Spielwarenmesse (aka the Nuremberg Toy Fair) in Germany, where LEGO has unveiled some stellar new anniversary products that are now up for grabs for pre-order. And guess what? There’s even more excitement on the horizon with the LEGO Star Wars 25-Second Film Festival launching in March. It’s your chance to showcase your favorite Star Wars moments or create new ones, all in a snappy 25-second LEGO film.

Now, let’s talk about the real stars of the show – the new LEGO sets! We’re talking about a collection that includes a brand-new Starship line with fresh takes on the Millennium Falcon (75375) and the Invisible Hand (75377), plus two sets inspired by the Tantive IV ship (75376 and 75387). And for the cherry on top, there’s a special 25th-anniversary edition set dedicated to our beloved R2-D2 (75379), complete with unique minifigures and anniversary tiles.

Over at the Spielwarenmesse, LEGO’s booth is a fan’s dream come true. They’ve got a new LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary logo with our favorite droid R2-D2 in LEGO form, and a life-size R2-D2 build made from 27,797 LEGO bricks! This isn’t just any model – it’s a traveling exhibit hitting spots across Europe and the U.S. throughout 2024.

Mike Ilacqua, Head of Product at LEGO, summed it up perfectly: “We owe our success to the creativity and passion of our fans.” It’s all about celebrating the amazing journey of LEGO Star Wars, from the products and games to the big builds and beyond.

The LEGO Star Wars team is putting fans at the heart of the celebration throughout 2024. We’ve already heard from some die-hard fans like David Hall of Solid Brix Studios, who’s been in the LEGO Star Wars community for 16 years and is currently working on a massive 10ft long Geonosis diorama. Then there’s Jean V from Instagram, whose love for Star Wars sparked her LEGO journey, admiring how LEGO brings Star Wars stories of hope to life.

And there’s more! Keep an eye out for the updated edition of DK’s LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary, coming out in April 2024 with an exclusive new minifigure, already available for pre-order.

This year is all about celebrating the magic of LEGO Star Wars and the incredible creativity of the fan community. With more surprises in store, 2024 is shaping up to be an unforgettable year.
