Something new for Batman, a couple of odd sets that kind of feel disconnected from things. They’re not from The LEGO Batman Movie and seem a bit off from other DC offerings. Maybe we’re seeing the start of something new. The big news is below these 2 smaller sets.
76111 Batman: Brother Eye Takedown
269 pieces, Ages 6+, $29.99 US, $34.99 CAD
Batman and Batwoman take on Brother Eye and his spaceship using a newly designed Batjet. The set has 3 minifigures and a bunch of golden-orange Bat-Symbols. Maybe the Batjet fires them?
76110 Batman: The Attack of the Talons
155 pieces, Ages 7+, $19.99 US, $24.99 CAD
Ace the Bathound is on hand to help Batman tackle 2 of the Talon’s along with a Bat-trike machine and more of these odd Bat-symbols.
76112 App-Controlled Batmobile
321 pieces, Ages 8+, $99.99 US, $119.99
This is something people have been waiting for – and are going to be kind of disappointed with. Don’t get me wrong, the concept is AWESOME. Using your phone to control a cool LEGO built vehicle like the Batmobile. Except – what the hell is that thing? That’s a Batmobile? Nope. MAYBE if they called it a Tumbler or something else, I’d get the concept.
However, this is LEGO we’re talking about. So what we don’t like, we adapt and change and update. So I can’t wait to see what people do with this technology once they get their hands on it.
