This Friday we finally get to see the MUCH HYPED Deadpool & Wolverine movie! We’ve been waiting for Deadpool 3 for like 100 years, ok, maybe only 6, but it feels like forever. There’s not much known about the movie’s plot – at least that we’ve been willing to believe. It’s a time-skipping adventure and ties to the Loki tv-series and seems to pay a lot of fan-service with returning characters or hints at them. We see X-23, Sabertooth, Ant-Man’s body, Vanessa, Blind Al, Dopinder and many others. And several alternate Deadpool make appearances, like Dogpool. We know that Deadpool is attempting to recruite an unwilling Logan/Wolverine to help Deadpool save his universe, but we don’t know from what, or why? And how is the TVA involved and what about Cassandra Nova?
Enough about the movie – now back to LEGO!
LEGO fans have literally zero choices for a good official LEGO Deadpool set right now. In fact, there’s only been 1 official set with the Deadpool character in it. Set 6866 – Wolverine’s Chopper featured the Merc With The Mouth, Wolverine and Magneto figures along with the helicopter. There are 2 additional minifigure exclusives from San Diego Comic Con in 2017 and 2018 also – Sheriff Deadpool and Deadpool Duck.
Why so few? Well – have you listened to Deadpool talk? Not exactly appropriate for the LEGO target audience is he?
That said, LEGO fans cross over with comic book fans a TON so there was never a doubt that we’d see unofficial Deadpool & Wolverine builds made from LEGO and compatible with LEGO.
Bricker Builds – Deadpool collection
The folks over at Bricker Builds are huge nerds like us. Fans of all things video game, comic book and super-hero. We’ve taken a look previously at their Bat-weapon and Captain America shield projects. This week, they’re featuring their Merc Life-Sized Collection which includes 3 different builds for only $536.97 (Save $179) including all the instructions and genuine LEGO bricks. The set is designed by Lewis Meeny who’s Instagram is full of amazing builds (Check the link in his Bio for tons of instructions).
Celebrate the Merc with a Mouth’s return to the big screen with an epic building collection! With over 2,500 pieces, you’ll be able to build his head (featuring 6 swappable sets of eyes), one of his swords (with display stand), and his icon (with display stand). This collection is perfect for any comic book or LEGO fan’s room!
As part of their Christmas In July celebration, they’re also offering the following stackable bonuses on other purchases too!
- Free Gingerbread Ornament with any order over $120 USD
- Free Adamanium Claw with any order over $330 USD
- Free Mutant Icon with any SUPER HERO order over $180 USD
Bricker Builds – Wolverine’s Adamantium Claws
If you’re more of a Wolverine fan, Bricker Builds has you covered also. How epic will these LEGO built Adamantium claws look during a cos-play or fan event with your amazing costume (We assume you have one of those). At $52.99 per hand (or claw) including all the parts and instructions, this would make a great addition.
Snikt!
Become the Wolverine with LEGO® brick-built Adamantium Claws! Equipped with a comfortable grip, curved knuckle rests that contour to your hand, and a sleek display stand, this is the ultimate build for comic book fans.
Each claw comes with extra parts for the stand to accommodate a crossed display when purchased as a pair. In hand this model will transform you into your favorite grumpy mutant!
BuildBetterBricks – Deadpool & Wolverine
The folks over at BuildBetterBricks have a few different and unique Deadpool inspired pieces. Their version of the bust & mask is a very different take to the one above, but it’s also smaller and less expensive. It might fit more places more easily.
I’m a big fan of the “Deadstud & Wolferine” cover tiles. It’s a shame they’re not glass replacements that would fit in the Palace Cinemal but these would be great for posters in some room decor.
BuildBetterBricks also have a custom Wolverine Bust MOC (5.5 inches tall, 3 inches wide, 2.75 inches deep) that comes with 275 official LEGO parts and a 55 page instruction book for $113. Designed by master builders Sean Mayo and Tyler Clites.
The color scheme is also pretty close to what we see in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Are you excited for the return of Deadpool and the future of the MCU? Want to see Logan again, alongside X-23? Do you have any custom Deadpool or Wolverine MOCs? We want to see them!
