The LEGO Group has announced the November 1 release of The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine from the LEGO Ideas project. The set will feature 550 pieces with 4 minifigures and Jeremy Hillary Boob and be priced at $59.99 USD / £49.99 / €59.99 depending on where you are.

Take a surreal trip under the seas in the LEGO® version of the Yellow Submarine from the iconic 1968 animated musical fantasy film inspired by The Beatles. Ideal for display or role-play fun, the Yellow Submarine features loads of cool, authentic details including a cockpit for the included minifigures of John, Paul, George and Ringo.

LEGO Designer Justin Ramsden is responsible for the final design based on the original LEGO Ideas submission by Kevin Szeto who has some wonderful designs in the Ideas site right now waiting for support.

Kevin said: “As an amateur musician and songwriter, I have always been drawn to the music of The Beatles. The creation of the Yellow Submarine model was really my way of showing my affection for The Beatles, as well as trying to pay a small tribute to The Beatles phenomenon. The Yellow Submarine is bright, fun, and colourful, which also made it a good subject to translate into LEGO form“.

I met Justin Ramsden at BrickCan 2016 and can say he was just a fun guy to talk to and be around at the con. He was very personable and interested in everything that was being displayed there. Justin’s most recent and popular build was the Super Hero Airport Battle (76051) from the Marvel Super Heroes line.
