Reviews of LEGO(R) TECHNIC toy building sets
Hauler (#8264)

Reviewed March 9, 2009

# of pieces: 575

Pros:  Sturdy toy, challenging build, great wheels.

Cons:  None

Review: This is my first attempt at building a Lego(R) TECHNIC set in about thirty years.  This is a medium-sized model, and it was challenging without being overwhelming.

It's an attractive model, and the wheels are perfect (big and rubbery with lots of tread).

It has a "PowerFunctions" motor to lift the dumping bed (as seen in the picture below), but not to actually move the vehicle. This can be modified with the use of additional PowerFunctions motors not included with this set.

The PowerFunctions battery box sits just behind the cab.  With a flick of the switch, the bed dumps its cargo!

The interior shot to the right shows the chair, steering wheel, and dashboard.  The yellow light on the top doubles as a knob for the player to turn the model left and right.
