Here we go again. It seems like every day new information about LEGO Star Wars sets or games or books are being released, not that we’re complaining!

Let’s have a look at what’s in store for summer 2016 in LEGO Star Wars, shall we?

75145 – Eclipse Fighter & 75147 – StarScavenger

If these 2 ships don’t seem familiar it’s likely because you have seen them yet. Both the Eclipse Fighter and StarScavenger are part of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures TV series. At 363 and 558 pieces respectively, these are good-sized sets that have a great look to them. Since the TV series is a LEGO Star Wars series, you know the sets will be almost 100% faithful to the show.

The minifigures are all new characters also with Dengar and Naare coming with the Eclipse Fighter and Rowan, Zander, Kordi and R0-GR (Roger) on board the StarScavenger. The StarScavenger has a great LEGO look to it, but the Eclipse Fighter wins my vote for its menacing look and dark tones.

75148 – Encounter on Jakku

Back to something a little more familiar, the planet Jakku from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We pretty much start the action of The Force Awakens on Jakku as Poe, Finn and Rey are all trying to escape the planet for their own reasons. This set brings us to Unkar Plutt’s junkyard where he attempts to buy BB-8 from Rey and ultimately ends up in a big chase sequence with Finn helping Rey and BB-8 escape. You’ll have to bring your own Finn minifig to this chase though since he’s mysteriously missing from this set.

You get 3 minifigures for Unkar Plutt, Teedo and Rey, and the standard BB-8 figure.

75149 – Resistance X-Wing Fighter

Sometimes I feel like a TIE Fighter Pilot and just think “Oh man, not another X-Wing” but here we are. This time in a grey and blue resistance pattern the classic Star Wars spaceship returns with another incarnation. Just last year we had Poe’s X-Wing in black and orange. The minifigures mark this as a set from the beginning of the movie, before or as the First Order arrive on Jakku. We have a Poe Dameron minifigure and BB-8, then Lor San Tekka (who Poe gets the map from in the movie) and a First Order Flametrooper, which I can see being very popular for anyone building a LEGO Stormtrooper army.

75150 – Vader’s TIE Advanced vs. A-Wing Starfighter

From the TV show Star Wars: Rebels we have the classic Vader TIE fighter taking on what’s called an A-Wign, a ship design some people may not be familiar with if they don’t watch this show. I’d buy this set for the TIE fighter alone. As expected, the minifigure lineup includes Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarken, Sabine Wren and an A-Wing pilot.

75151 – Clone Turbo Tank

Some people have been waiting for new Clone Turbo Tank – a good one, since the 96-piece miniature one came out, and many have bought their own. As the clone army has become more a piece of Star Wars history, represented in the various TV series and movies like Star Wars: The Clone Wars, one was inevitable and now we have it. The 6 minifigures don’t constitute an army or even much in the way of troops, but it’s a start. You get 2 Battle Droids, Luminara Unduli, Quinlan Vos, Clone Commander Gree and an Elite Corps Clone Trooper.
